Another argument about breeders and how they’re in it for the money.
DOES ANYONE ON MY FRIENDS LIST THINK I AM GETTING PAID A FAIR WAGE FOR BEING A NANNY 24/7, WAKING EVERY 2-6 HOURS TO CARRY THESE DOGS OUT TO THE GARDEN. FOR FOUR FRICKIN’ WEEKS.
LET’S SEE: $20 X 24 = $480 X 28 = $13,440. Would I be getting that for these pups? Nooooooo. Would I have already spent about half to 2/3rds of this before the pups were just a gleam in Shimi’s eyes? YUP.
And this is the wage for a shit nanny that spends most of her time on her phone. Well, let’s not get into that.
Even if I did make this much money, it’s not a sign of moral decrepitude. Prices are rising, I’ve put a crap ton of work into these dogs, trying to make then as happy and healthy a litter of pups anyone has ever seen. I spend an obscene amount on my main hobby.
So, when I produce something, I want it to be better than good. I want people to think they made the best decision of their lives when they buy one of my dogs.
Whether that dog goes on to be a show champion or just a beloved pet, I want it to live a long life in a loving home and for its people to take joy in its company.
It comes at a cost, though.
