NanaimoDogParks.ca is now online!
I’m taking a break from reporting the movements of Shibas and dogs in general to focus on my own city for a little while. Right now, the dog park situation in Nanaimo is not optimum for Nanaimo dog owners, as in our city of around 86,000 people, we have only one fenced dog park and several unfenced “dogs are allowed to be off leash here” areas, most of which are in remoter areas without lighting, parking or access for the disabled.
Therefore, I am compiling some resources for people who are looking for information about Nanaimo’s dog park situation and featuring those websites that focus on our Nanaimo dog park happenings.
City of Nanaimo Dog Park Page Not too sure how often this is updated.

Beban Dog Park Facebook Page This is the replacement FB page that takes over from Nanaimo Dog Park, which no longer has moderators. WE NEED YOU! The more people who connect with us, the more we can get together to (nicely) petition the City to aid us in our quest for bigger and better and safer dog parks!
Paul Jay Zenfolio Page Paul and Apollo are regulars at the Beban Dog Park area.
The Rhino’s Ass Used to have an extensive gallery under “The Dogpatch” but it’s gone now. However, the site is in the process of resurrection, so maybe it will come back in the future.
